Magnet Films is an independent production and distribution company that operates across Europe, the U.S. and Australia. After producing Raffaele Salvaggiola's debut feature film "1/2", the team is now developing Giovanni Basso's opera prima, titled "L'Amore e la Violenza" (Love & Violence).


Giovanni Basso is an Italian director, producer and cinematographer. He wrote and directed several short films in Italy, Australia and the United States. In 2013 he wrote and directed "The Swimmer", that participated in competition in over fifty international film festivals including the New York City Horror Film Festival, the Hollywood Film Festival, the San Diego Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Awards, where it received the special jury mention. In 2015 Giovanni wrote, directed and produced Terra Continens, a short film presented at the Venice Film Market of the 2015 Venice Biennale. In 2016 he produced Raffaele Salvaggiola's debut feature film entitled "1/2", for which he also served as cinematographer.

Matteo Macaluso is an Italian producer and director from Parma, who attended and graduated from the Accademia d'Arte Drammatica dell'Antoniano. He produced and directed his first short film "Stateless" in 2004, and since then he has been producing and directing many short films and documentaries, that have won awards in national and international film festivals. In 2009 he produced and directed "Vercinge", one of the very first Italian short films to be filmed and post-produced in 4K. In 2011 he produced and directed the short film "Al Crepuscolo", that was in competition in more than thirty international film festivals. In 2016 he produced Raffaele Salvaggiola's debut feature film entitled "1/2".
